Sample letter to your representatives in Congress
In the lawsuit Texas v. US, a federal judge ruled that ObamaCare is unconstitutional because there no longer is a penalty for not having health care coverage. The ruling is not being enforced until appeals can be heard.
Since the premise of the lawsuit is the lack of a penalty, Congress can render this case moot simply by reinstating one - even one as small as $1.
While a nominal penalty would invalidate the lawsuit, only a significant one would encourage more people to obtain insurance - thus lowering premiums to save everyone money (including the federal government).
As a taxpayer and your constituent - as well as someone that will require health care - I am urging you to represent my best interests by working to reinstate the mandate as it exists in the ObamaCare law.
